WHO IS MOUSSA TOURE ?
My name is Moussa Toure. I am a passionate young actor, born in Belgium and now based in London. Since I was little, I have always had a particular energy for the art of acting, whether in comic or more dramatic roles. I love exploring different universes through theatre and camera. I am fluent in French and English, and I manage a little in Dutch. This cultural mix helps me bring a unique touch to each role I play. Always curious, motivated, and ready to learn, I constantly seek to surpass myself and live from my passion: acting.
My experience at CYTO
I am part of the Croydon Youth Theatre Organisation (CYTO), a space that has greatly contributed to me humanly and artistically. It's much more than just a place for rehearsals or shows: it's a real family for me.
There, I had the chance to participate in several enriching productions, guided by passionate professionals. CYTO has allowed me to grow, gain confidence, and push my limits as an actor.
It is a place where I feel at home, free to express myself and flourish in my passion !
MY ACTING CAREER
Ravers
I had the incredible opportunity to perform in the play “Ravers”, written by Rikki Beadle-Blair, a well-known actor and writer. It was an unforgettable experience, both artistically and personally.
The play explores the emotions, concerns, struggles, and highs that young people go through. It tells the story of a rave — not the usual kind fueled by alcohol or drugs, but a safe, joyful space to escape, meet new people, dance under the open sky, and simply be free for a moment.
Sharing the stage with a talented and passionate cast, under such thoughtful direction, was a powerful experience. Being part of “Ravers” meant lending my voice to an entire generation.
Asa
In Ravers, I played Assa.
This character allowed me to explore different sides of myself his doubts, his way of speaking, his sensitivity… He truly touched me, and I gave everything to make him feel alive and real.
This role taught me a lot, not just about acting, but about who I am.
Thank you, Assa.
DEER
MY FIRST PIECE IN ENGLISH: SNOW WHITE
In Snow White, I played the character of the Deer.
It was my very first play in English, and to be honest, I was really stressed. Playing in a language that is not mine was a real challenge. I was excited, of course, but full of doubts.
At that time, I didn't seek to have a bigger role - not because I lacked ambition, but because I knew I wasn't ready yet. I wanted to take the time to do things right, gain confidence, learn, listen, and sincerely connect to the stage.
This experience allowed me to cross a personal barrier. She gave me my first contact with the theatre in English, and since then, I have only progressed. I'm proud of where I started and even more grateful for the path that awaits me.
Isaac
MY FIRST ON-SCREEN ROLE: ISAAC
Playing Isaac was a major milestone for me—it was the very first time I acted on camera. The film was directed by Rikki, who also wrote Rivers, alongside my theatre teacher Andrew. Working with them was an incredible opportunity, especially for my first on-screen experience. I was both excited and nervous—acting for the camera is so different from theatre. It requires a more intimate kind of performance, where small details and emotions matter. It was a challenge, but also a powerful learning experience. Unfortunately, the film was never released. We still don’t really know why, but there are a few possible reasons:
- Technical issues during post-production.
- Organizational or legal complications.
- A shift in the director’s priorities.
- Or maybe it just got put on hold indefinitely.
Even though the film didn’t come out, the experience itself meant a lot to me. It helped me grow, take risks, and step into a whole new side of acting. I’ll always remember it as a key moment in my journey.
And who knows maybe one day, it’ll finally be seen.
Kamal
I had the immense opportunity to play in the play "Diamond", created especially to celebrate CYTO's 60th anniversary. It was an unforgettable experience, both artistic and personal. The play follows a group of young theater enthusiasts who, through their adventures and exchanges, share their dreams, their doubts and their overflowing energy. My character, Kamal, brought a unique touch of humor to the story - a funny, light and endearing role that offered the audience moments of laughter and complicity. Playing one of the main characters in such a production, surrounded by a talented cast and under incredible direction was a landmark experience. Being part of “Diamond” for such a symbolic birthday meant lending my voice and energy
SKILLS/ LANGUAGES
Content Creation
Even before I dreamed of being an actor, I had another dream: to become a YouTuber. I started my very first channel at the age of 9, with a video about Beyblade Burst! For almost 7 years, I explored this universe, learned to edit videos, to do SEO, to optimise my titles, my miniatures, to captivate an audience...
Even though I ended up putting this dream aside, I kept all the skills I acquired. Today, I use them to create content related to my current passion: theatre and acting.
I have a dedicated YouTube channel, Moussa Touré.Acteur, on which I share:
• Monologues
• Short films written by me,
• Original scenes
• And plays that I stage myself.
I am passionate about writing, directing, video editing, and visual creation. Creating projects from A to Z allows me to express myself freely and explore new facets of my acting.
And this is just the beginning.
The drawing, a little side to me.
Since I was little, I loved to draw. It's not something I do every day, but from time to time, it relaxes me, it inspires me. It's just another way for me to express how I feel.
Football
I started playing football at the age of 7, and I played in different clubs over the years. At the time, I even dreamed of becoming a professional footballer. (Yes, I had a lot of dreams at the time!). Even if this journey did not succeed as I had imagined, football is still part of my life. From time to time, I find myself on a field for a few games with friends, even if I no longer have photos of that time.
MY GOALS
Since I was little, I always knew that I did not want to lead a "classic" life. My dream is to live from my passion: acting. What I want is to tell stories, play powerful roles, and have fun doing it. My goal is to prove that no matter where you come from, with passion, work and determination, you can accomplish great things. Of course, sometimes it takes a little luck, but nothing replaces effort and motivation. I dream of participating in major projects: films or series internationally, mixing drama, humour, thriller... And why not one day, share the screen with actors I admire, like Kevin Hart or Jenna Ortega or why not both hahaha! I also want to continue to evolve in the theatre, especially at the National Theatre, and perhaps join a major school like RADA to go even further in my acting training.
Anecdote
A little ski anecdote (because yes, even there, I have a story) Some time ago, I was on a school trip skiing in Italy. It was the first time I went skiing, and so much to say that I was not really a pro. One day, during the lesson with our ski teacher - Luigi (yes, really!) - I ask him if I can go to the bathroom. He tells me "yes", everything is fine... until I come back. More of Luigi. No more group. No more benchmarks. I was completely lost. I say to myself: "Well, it doesn't matter, I'm going back down the track". I choose a red or blue track, I even know more. I'm going all out (well... at my level). Once down, still no one. There, I panicked a little. I decided to go back on foot... on skis. With poles and skis on your feet, yes yes. While I was struggling to get back up, I heard in the distance: "Moussaaaa!" It was my friends and Luigi, who were calling me from the top of the track. They were there, dying of laughter: "But Moussa, why are you walking back? There are ski lifts for that!” They left me in the bathroom. This is how I was taught, from the beginning, that even when skiing... you have to know how to improvise.
What my entourage says.
Moussa is a unique case, in terms of the actors I’ve witnessed, as someone also pursuing a career in the arts. He took it upon himself to develop his own artistic range and ability as an actor, in a language that is not his mother tongue — a notably strenuous task, with its difficulty able to easily deter many. His charisma allows him to work well with other actors, and his determination will bolster any project he works on, given proper judgment and patience from those working alongside him.
Kristian Swaby (currently a member of CYTO and student of Brit School)
Moussa Toure’s attitude and dedication to the arts is unrivalled. He is always trying to ways and explore new opportunities and skills with his fellow peers to not only improve his understanding and knowledge but also be an incredible friend to help everyone else around him advance aswell. I couldn’t be more fortunate for finding a friend like him and I can’t wait to see what the future awaits each other.
- Lewis Devaney-Rattray (Ex member of CYTO)
Moussa Toure is an exceptional actor but what makes him stand out is his commitment to his career. His unmatched dedication has inspired me and many others to become more hard working actors. I wish him the best for his future career in performing arts.
